Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born into a musical family on August 9th, 1963. She was born in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel superstar Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and cousin of singer Dionne Warwick. As a child, she sang in her New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. At the age of she turned 15years old, Houston was singing professionally with backing vocals alongside her mother for Chaka Khan's 1978 song Im Every Woman. The singer went on to sing backing vocals for Lou Rawls Jermaine Jackson and her mother, and also did a brief stint as models on the front cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. Her vocals with the band from New York Material attracted major record labels such as Arista. The label signed her to Arista in 1983, where she continued to work for the rest of her professional career. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut single for a new artist in the year. Many hit songs, including the hit songs Saving All My Love For You How Do I know It's Good to Love You as well as The greatest Love of All were released from the album, setting her up for a Beatles-beating seven consecutive US number ones. Album sold in US 3,000,000 copies before it reached 25,000,000 copies globally. The album brought her first of her 6 Grammy Awards. The Whitney album of 1987, featuring the tracks I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to and continued to be a huge success. But it is The Bodyguard of 1992 that was her breakthrough album and made her one of the top-selling musicians in recent history. Although the film and the performances on screen were not widely appreciated, the album's soundtrack and her cover of the Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You was the top of charts for albums and singles for a period of time and sold over 44 million copies across the globe. That same year she married ex-New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she had her only child their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. In 1996, her use of drugs was documented.
Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she works for CNN as both an anchorwoman, reporter, and political reporter. Her weekend programs include Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash received a Women in Washington Power List award by Elle magazine.
